It’s a good choice for someone who’s new to the DPS role. Overall, Dragoon is easy to pick up and it offers really fun gameplay with significant damage output. In terms of gear stats, you definitely want some Skill Speed, but besides that, your main priorities are Critical Hit and Direct Hit. While the complexity of your rotation is not overwhelming, standing in the right position at all times is a nice mechanic to keep the player engaged in the game. You should be able to learn the basics with relative ease and the reward in the form of your damage output can be more than satisfying.Īt the same time, it’s not braindead either. At the same time, Dragoon is arguably one of the easiest jobs in FFXIV. As long as you’re able to hit your positions and execute on the main combo you should be ending up close to the top of the charts. This job is currently one of the most powerful DPS characters in the game. Dragoons wear plate armors and fight with polearms – different types of spears, lances, halberds et cetera. You can unlock this class in the Lancer’s Guild in Old Gridania. In order to become a Dragoon, you first need to be a level 30 Lancer. Besides that, it’s a really straightforward job with a stable rotation and a really good damage output.īeing one of the original FFXIV jobs, Dragoon has a combat class associated with it. Dragoon is also very reliant on positioning to get as much as possible from their standard combos. It’s a very mobile, acrobatic job that uses jumps to move around and deal damage at the same time. Their weapons and style of combat are inspired by the everlasting conflict between men and dragons. If you're doing coils, you'd be able to get away with making jumps more frequent in your rotations because you'll have those 10-20 second gaps of just attacking the boss in between their mechanics.Dragoons (DRG) are heavy armored melee damage dealers. If you absolutely need to make use of jump because it looks cool and the scenarios I provided aren't enough, you can use them after he casts his aoe attacks, but I feel you'd do better refreshing dots or your heavy thrust, depending on how close they are to running out. I'd recommend you save your jumps for nails ( don't forget about power surge ) to get to them quicker, and to easily get back to Ifrit if you're tethered to the MT. I'd only mess with jumps if I were breaking someone out of gaols and the DPS wasn't quick enough, or when adds spawn and we're in dire need of burning them down.Īs for Ifrit Ex, our static and stand-in members are decently geared so when I am knocked back, I don't have to use jumps nor should I feel the need to since our DPS is more than enough for an easy clear. I'd honestly rely more on your buffs ( heavy strike, bloodbath, and internal release ). Sure thing, I'll do my best to answer accordingly.Īs for Titan Ex, I've never really had to rely on jumps nor would I use them because of how quick his cast times were for landslides and weight of the land. Publicado originalmente por xBlackCloudx:mind if i ask you for some tips or advice? ill be honest i really only use jumps when im knocked back from ifrit or titan EX help me out? We've all been there, when you use your jump and then find the boss immediately puts a circle on you you can't avoid. The game really is unfair in that black mages can just stand there and press buttons without dealing with all the melee cleaving crap, while dragoons have to maneuver everywhere and have annoying charge times to their abilities you can't cancel. WHY!!!!? im in raids and parties and i do fine until i make ONE mistake and suddenly im the worst player in the world meanwhile the healer tank and other dps can ♥♥♥♥ up and drag the whole party down and no one says ♥♥♥♥ but ONLY dragoon get called out and kicked like seriosuly WTF its like too much is expeceted from drg's and its really pissing me o ff that i can do a raid or dungeon without someone criticizing me and im not a bad player i play my job well and i stay alive and do good dmg but i make one mistake and i never hear the end of it any other drg's here get the same prob or have any advice or sumthing to help me out? thanks
